LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – The Lafayette College men's soccer team notched its third-consecutive road victory as junior
James Gibson deflected a loose ball into the net in the 85
th minute to defeat Siena, 2-1, on Tuesday afternoon.
In a tie game, Gibson was able to get his foot on a ball in the box that beat the Siena (0-2-2) goalkeeper to give the Leopards (3-1) the late advantage and record his second goal of the afternoon.
In the first half, Gibson opened the scoring when his strike from the 18 went inside the left post in the 15
th minute to give the Maroon and White a 1-0 lead.
Siena answered in the second half when Matt Crisafulli caught up to a through ball and snuck it inside the right post to tie the game in the 64
th minute.
Gibson's last-minute goal was his third in two games, including two game winners.
Lafayette came out aggressive as it outshot the Saints 23-6 overall and 12-3 in shots on goal.

Christian Williams played all 90 minutes for the fourth-consecutive game to provide support to their freshman keeper,
Alex Sutton, who tallied two saves on the afternoon.
The Leopards are off to their best start since 2010, when they started 3-0-1 in the season's first four games.
Lafayette will return to Mike Bourger '44 Field at Oaks Stadium on a three-game winning streak for a Friday night contest with Cornell at 7 p.m.
