EASTON, Pa. – The Lafayette College volleyball team fell in four sets to Navy on Saturday's senior day, dropping them to 2-9 in Patriot League action.

Ellie Carrera-Justiz led the way for Lafayette (13-14, 2-9 PL)) with 11 kills each. Sophomore
Grace Tulevech totaled eight and sophomore
Kelly Austin recorded a season-high seven kills.
The first set saw Navy (13-9, 8-3 PL)) jumping out to a quick 3-0 lead before an attack error by the Midshipman would get Lafayette on the board. Throughout the rest of the sets, the two squads would seemingly go point for point until they were tied at 23-23. Navy would capitalize on an attack error by Tulevech making it 24-23 before Austin would put down a kill to make it 24-24. The two teams would trade kills right after to make it 25-25 before Navy would be able to pull away by back-to-back kills to get the 27-25 first set victory.
Set two saw Navy taking the quick 2-1 lead, stretching it as far as 21-15 before the Leopards would attempt a comeback but would only be able to pull the score to 25-19, putting Navy up 2-0 in the match.
With Navy on the verge of sweeping the Lafayette, the Leopards would pull ahead to a 14-7 lead and from there battled off a comeback attempt by Navy with kills by Tulevech, Carrera-Justiz and a bad set by the opposing team to get the 25-18 set three victory, forcing a fourth set.
Lafayette would go up 14-7 in the fourth set, looking as if they were going to force a 15 point fifth set. But Navy would go on an five point run to tie it up at 19-19 and from there would claim the final six points of the set to win 25-22 and the match three sets to one. Â
Up next for the Leopards is a two-match road trip to Colgate on Friday and Holy Cross on Saturday before returning home for their final home match of the season on November 12 against Army.
