Olivia Martino scored a career-high 22 points and classmate
Natalie Kucowski had a game-high 23 points as the Lafayette women's basketball team dropped its regular-season finale on Wednesday night at
Kirby Sports Center.
The Leopards' attention will now turn to the Patriot League Tournament. As the conference's No. 10 seed, they will travel to No. 7 Army on Saturday for a first round matchup at 1 p.m.
Lafayette (7-22, 2-16 PL) got out to a fast start, making its most 3-pointers in a quarter this season in the first with five long balls led by sophomore
Olivia Martino's pair of triples.
Martino had a career-high six 3-pointers and matched her career best with eight total field goals to go along with four rebounds and an assist.
The Leopards shot 56 percent in the first to jump in front before Colgate (11-16, 7-10 PL) returned the favor, shooting 52 percent in the second.
The Maroon and White stopped the bleeding and closed the half on a 7-0 run and head into the break as sophomore

Nia Holland came in to score her first points of the season on a pair of free throws, and Kucowski followed with two foul shots of her own.
Kucowski tallied her 14
th double-double of the season with 12 rebounds to go along with her 23 points. She also had four assists, three steals and tacked on to her Patriot League-leading blocks total with three on the night.
Midway through the third, the Leopards went on another 7-0 run that was quickly answered by a 17-0 Colgate run that spanned the final minutes of the third and the first few of the fourth to go up 13 points with nine minutes to play.
Lafayette did not roll over, answering with an 11-0 scoring spurt that cut the Raider lead to just three with 2:41 to play in the game.
Colgate used the final two minutes to pad its free throw shooting numbers, going 10-of-12 from the foul line in the game and 5-of-6 in crunch time.
Four Raiders were in double-figures, including Rachel Thompson who led the way with 22 points and eight rebounds for the visitors while Tegan Graham had 20 points and seven boards.
Sophomore
Drew Freeland added seven points for Lafayette and matched her career high with nine rebounds and four assists while senior
Alex Cantwell came off the bench to score six points with a game-high five assists.
The Leopards scored their most points since the second game of the Patriot League schedule when Lafayette bested Holy Cross, 73-63, at home.
