Box Score 2 EASTON, Pa. – The Lafayette College volleyball team dropped its opening two matches on Friday in the UMBC Invitational tournament.  
In the day's first match, the Leopards (0-2) battled hosts UMBC (1-1). After two close sets, they battled back to take the third, 25-13, before falling in the fourth by two points.  
Lafayette was led by sophomore 
Leanna Deegan with 12 kills, hitting .364. Sophomore 
Grace Tulevech and freshman 
Ellie Carrera-Justiz both recorded 10 kills apiece to help pace the Leopards.
In the second match of the day, Temple (2-0) took down the Leopards in three straight sets. Deegan and Carrera-Justiz led the way with eight blocks apiece and junior 
Grace Steurer led the way in digs with 12.  
Lafayette will make a quick turnaround as they are set to take on Fairfield University (1-1) tomorrow at 11 a.m. in their final game of the UMBC Invitational tournament.
