DOVER, Del. -- The opportunities that the Lafayette women's soccer team had created through the first four games paid dividends on Friday evening in a 3-0 win over Delaware State at Alumni Field.
The Leopards continued their early season trend of outshooting their opponent - in this case a 17-3 advantage.

Camryn Monfort delivered a pair of assists and junior forward
Krista Kissell added a goal and assist as Lafayette leveled their record at 2-2-1 on the year.
Saldivar got the visitors on the board in the 12th minute with a boot from 25 yards out over the head of Hornets goalkeeper Franchesska Ramirez off the assist from Monfort.
Monfort's corner kick in the 29th minute was corralled deep in the box by Kissell who buried it for her first goal of the season and eighth of her career to give the Leopards a 2-0 lead at halftime.
Kissell quickly helped the Leopards push the lead to 3-0 early in the second half when she connected with Saldivar who finished to the right of Ramirez for the final goal of the evening.
"It was a game where we had to be patient," head coach
Mick Statham said. "The goals were well taken with Krista's assist on the third - Sophie's second - being the quality we needed to close out the game."
Lafayette dominated possession and held the hosts without a shot through the first 45 minutes. Delaware State (0-5) managed a trio of shots in the final 20 minutes, one which went wide and two that were stopped by freshman goalkeeper
Natalie Neumann. Junior
Maggie Pohl and Neumann combined for their third clean sheet of the season as they continued a time share in goal.
The Leopards will have a relatively quick turnaround with a Sunday afternoon match at Georgetown. The Hoyas, who are also 2-2-1 on the year, welcome Lafayette to Shaw Field for a 1 p.m. start.
