EASTON, Pa. – Junior co-captain Justin Jaworski of the Lafayette men's basketball team suffered a season-ending knee injury against Army on Wednesday evening and will miss the remainder of the 2019-20 season, the program announced on Friday morning.

I always thought this post was something special, but now being on the other side of a serious injury, it means even more. Tearing an ACL and Meniscus on a routine play is beyond frustrating, I never thought it could happen to me. It's almost impossible to see in the moment, but this is something that will only makes my story more special and part of God's perfect purpose for my life. This is a start of a new challenge for me, and I will attack it the only way I know how, through relentless work, and I know the comeback will be special. #prayforthebear

The third-leading scorer in the Patriot League this season at 17.1 points per game, Jaworski was a Patriot League Player of the Year candidate after earning all-league third-team honors a year ago. On Jan. 8, he became the program's 46^th 1,000-point scorer and currently sits 31^st on Lafayette's all-time scoring list with 1,162 career points.
 
The Schwenksville, Pa. native ranks in the top three in the Patriot League in three different categories this season including threes per game (2^nd, 2.6), free-throw percentage (2^nd, 86.7%) and scoring (17.1 ppg). He registered a pair of 30-point games this season, dropping 31 in 30 minutes in an upset victory over Saint Joseph's on Dec. 3 and tallying 32, with 14 coming in the final 6:22 to knock off American on Feb. 1.
 
Lafayette returns to action on Saturday afternoon, traveling to Worcester, Mass. for a meeting with Holy Cross at 2 p.m.
