EASTON, Pa. – The defense continued to impress for the Lafayette women's lacrosse team on Wednesday evening, keeping its opponent under the 10-goal mark for the third straight outing, but the offense couldn't find enough in a 9-7 defeat at Fisher Stadium.
Following a 9-5 deficit early in the second stanza, the Leopards countered with a pair in the first seven minutes to trim it to a two-goal game with 23:08 to play. Unfortunately, those were the final goals scored on either side as the defense dominated the majority of the second half and Binghamton saw out the 9-7 win.
The loss is the first as a Leopard for head coach
Katie McConnell, whose squad falls to 2-1 on the 2020 campaign. Binghamton picks up its first victory, sitting at 1-3 in the early going.
