DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Lafayette College Baseball team fell to Davidson, 16-0, Saturday afternoon in game two of the three game weekend series.
The Leopards were led by junior
Colin Hartey, senior
Jake Sniegocki and freshman
Jack Amendola who each tallied a hit.
Davidson (8-2) jumped on the board early, putting up three runs in the first two innings to quickly take a 6-0 lead.
The Wildcats would then add 10 more runs over the course of the game to make it 16-0.
Lafayette's (3-6) best chance of the day came in the top of the ninth inning when sophomore
Zach Savage was hit by a pitch to put himself on first with one out. Sophomore
Evan Kiah then walked as well to put runners on first and second and then junior
Hunter Silvernail walked to load the bases.
But the Maroon and White's bats couldn't connect as Sniegocki and freshman
Patrick Vandenbergh both struck out to end the game.
Up next for the Leopards is the final game of the weekend series Sunday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
