EASTON, Pa. – Lafayette men's soccer head coach
Dennis Bohn welcomed four additional student-athletes to the class of 2024, joining the five commits announced in January.
The Leopards will welcome another three field players and a goalkeeper to the squad.
Coming to College Hill from Soquel, California is Connor Dawson. He played last season for the U.S. Soccer Development Academy's Breakers FC, starting every match at defense and is also a three-time United Soccer Northern California Training Center selection in 2016 and 2017.
He is the son of Brian Dawson and Layla Dawson and has two brothers, Jack and Brandon and one sister, Tatiana.
The next incoming recruit to the class of 2024 is Sam Lee from Madison, Alabama. Lee, a goalkeeper, was a regular starter for the Beachside SC Academy last season, a team a part of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy, the highest level of youth soccer in the country.
Lee also played for Barca Academy where he was a part of the team that placed third at the Development Academy Championships and was named the Top Drawer Soccer standout at the winter development academy showcase.
He also played a season for IMG Academy and is the son of Danny Lee and Kari Kubik and has one sister, Zoey.
Coming to College Hill from Ossining, New York is Nolan Lenaghan where he was a four year-starter at Ossining High School. He was named the team captain for the 2019 season and broke the Ossining High School record for most goals in a single regular season, netting 27. He leaves Ossining as the all-time leading goal scorer with 58 career goals and 23 assists.
The forward was named a 2019 United Soccer Coaches All-American selection, a United Soccer Coaches All-Region selection, a United States Coaches All-State selection and the Conference 1 League D Unanimous MVP. He was named the 2019 LoHud News Westchester Player of the Year.
Lenaghan also plays for the Westchester Flames Soccer Club where he was a 2017 Super Y League North American Finals Runner-Up.
He is the son of Matthew Lenaghan and Deborah Lenaghan and has one brother, Alex and one sister, Olivia.
The class of 2024's final commit is Tenneyson Wnek, coming to College Hill from Willmington, North Carolina. A four-year varsity starter at New Hanover High School, Wnek helped his team capture two Mideastern Conference Championships and scoring 23 goals over his four years at New Hanover.
He was named team captain in 2019 as well as the Mideastern Conference Co-Player of the Year and the New Hanover High School MVP. Wnek is a NCSCA First Team All-State selection, a two-time All-Mideastern Conference First Team selection and a two-time NCSCA 3A Region 4 All-Region First Team selection.
Wnek is the son of John P. Wnek and Alexandra Smith Wnek and has one brother, McCain. His father, John P., played football at Montgomery College and Clarion University.
The Leopards finished their 2019 season with a 9-7-5 overall record. They advanced to the Patriot League Tournament Final for the ninth time in the last 22 years, knocking off defending champion Colgate and then preseason favorite Loyola to advance to the championship game.
