EASTON, Pa. – Lafayette men's soccer head coach
Dennis Bohn announced this afternoon that the program has signed five student-athletes to its class of 2024.
Carter Houlihan is coming to College Hill from North Wales, Pennsylvania. He's a four year starter for North Penn High School playing midfield, forward and center back. He helped lead North Penn to four conference championships while claiming the 2019 District Championship. He is a three-time first team all-conference selection and in 2018 was also named to the Southeastern PA All-Star Team and the North Penn High School MVP. Houlihan guided North Penn to the 4A State Championship this year, scoring both goals in North Penn's 2-0 championship victory. Houlihan was recently named the Pennsylvania Soccer Coaches Association Male State Player of the Year and was named to the 2019 USC Region II Male All-America team.
Houlihan also played for Lehigh Valley United and was a member of the US Youth Soccer Region 1 ODP Team. With Lehigh Valley United he was a member of the 2019 National Championship team as well as a part of the 2017-18 NCS State Cup Championship team. Houlihan also was a part of the EPYSA ODP from 2012-18, acting as captain for two seasons and helping claim a Region 1 Championship in 2017.
He is the son of James and Kelly Houlihan and has one sister, Riley.
Hailing from Centerport, New York, is Brendan Tomlinson. He was a 2018 High School State Champion with Chaminade High School, an All-League selection and in 2019 was named to the Newsday's Top 20 High School Players on Long Island Club while playing for Lake Grove Newfield United. The six foot defender was also a US Club National Club Runner-Up with Lake Grove Newfield United as well as an ENY State Cup Champion, Mid-Atlantic Regional Champion, Jefferson Cup Champion, EDP National League Conference Champion and the NYC Cup Champion in 2019 and was recently awarded a place on the high school All-State team.
The all-state selection is the son of Patrick and Jeanne Tomlinson and has two brothers, Matt and Timmy.
The class of 2024's third recruit is Eoin Martin from Mahopac, New York. Martin plays at the highest level for New York City FC as a center back and an outside back, playing in the USSDA. His team recently advanced to the next round of the DA cup with only eight teams remaining to compete for the prestigious cup. He is the son of Brian and Rita Martin and has three sisters, Orla, Mairead and Ailis.
Hailing from Yarmouth, Maine is Zachary Woods. As a four year goalkeeper for Woodberry Forest School in Woodberry Forest, Virginia, he was a two-year captain, named Rookie of the Year his freshman season and a three time All-Prep League team selection. The 6'6 goalkeeper finished his high school career with an .825 save percentage. While at Woodberry Forest, he was a tri-sport athlete also playing lacrosse and basketball. Woods was recently named to the VISAA Boys Soccer All-State Division 1 Second Team.
He is the son of Stephen and Katie Woods and has two sisters, Cammy and Emily.
The class of 2024's final incoming freshman is Eddie Grant from Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Playing for Cherry Hill East High School, he was a four year varsity soccer starter and a two year captain. He was named First Team All-Olympic Conference as well as a two-time Golden Boot award winner, a two-time offensive team MVP and was named to the All-South Jersey team and All-State team. He plays club soccer for the regionally ranked South Jersey Elite Barons Rush.
He is the son of John and Lisa Grant and has one sister, Nicole.
The Leopards finished their 2019 season with a 9-7-5 overall record and were 4-3-2 in Patriot League action, making a run to the Patriot League Tournament Championship for the first time since 2012.
