Men’s Soccer Falls to Temple, 1-0

Leopards' Flurry of Second Half Chances Not Enough to Equalize

EASTON, Pa. – Temple took a 1-0 decision against Lafayette on Tuesday night at Mike Bourger '44 Field, with a first-half goal proving to be the difference.

Temple opened the scoring in the 28th minute when Lukas Stefaner whipped a cross into the box from a corner kick and Carlos Rojas finished it off to give the Owls a 1-0 lead. Marco Brok made two saves in the remaining time of the opening half to keep the deficit at one heading into the break.

The Leopards created more chances after halftime. Oliver Gordon put a shot on target in the 62nd minute, but Temple goalkeeper Gavin Atkinson fully extended to make the save. In the 74th minute, Nicolas Juliano dribbled past his defender before firing a curling shot that just barely crept over the crossbar.

Lafayette continued to look for the equalizer late in the match. Riley Martin ripped a low-driven shot on frame in the 87th minute, but Atkinson parried the ball away to preserve Temple's lead.

Brok finished with three saves for the Leopards, while Atkinson made two saves for Temple, earning the clean sheet. Lafayette held a 5-2 advantage in shots in the second half.

Lafayette will be back home on Saturday for a Patriot League clash against Loyola Maryland at 1 p.m.
