Leopards Fall to Mountain Hawks Saturday

Lafayette closes out non-conference action Tuesday at Hofstra

BETHLEHEM Pa. – The Lafayette College men's soccer team fell to Lehigh, 0-2, in Bethlehem on Saturday night.

The Leopards were led by junior Hale Lombard who totaled five shots. Junior Benji Grossi totaled four shots and a team-high three on goal.

Freshman Griffin Huff totaled three saves in his second collegiate game between the pipes.

Lombard had the first chance to find the back of the net for Lafayette (7-5-2, 3-2-1 PL) in the seventh minute off a header, but the Mountain Hawks goalkeeper grabbed the ball to keep it 0-0 early in the game.

Lehigh's (2-9-2, 2-4-0 PL) first shot on goal of the night came in the 22nd minute but Huff echoed the Mountain Hawks goalkeeper with a big save to keep the game scoreless.

Huff then followed up with two more huge saves at the end of the first half to keep the score tied at zero heading into halftime.

The second half was all Mountain Hawks as they found the back of the net twice, first in the 59th minute and then in the 86th minute, bringing the final to 2-0 in favor of Lehigh.

The Leopards are set for their final non-conference match of the season on Tuesday, traveling to Hofstra for a 7 p.m. game. They will then return to Oaks on Saturday to take on American at 7 p.m. for the Maroon and White's senior night.
