EASTON, Pa. – The Lafayette College volleyball team knocked off Loyola in four sets (25-22, 25-23, 21-25, 25-10) Saturday afternoon in 
Kirby Sports Center for its fifth straight victory.
 
It was senior 
Leanna Deegan leading the way with a match-high 24 kills to go along with six digs while classmate 
Grace Tulevech put down 11, hitting .400 off the bench with four blocks.
 
The Leopards got out to a big lead in the second set, 19-11 before a Loyola timeout sparked a 5-0 run for the Greyhounds to make it 20-17. Lafayette ended the set with back-to-back kills by Deegan and senior 
Madi Wahrmund to go up by two.
 
Wahrmund went 9-0-15 on the afternoon to hit .600 with four blocks.
 
The tide turned in the third set as the Greyhounds woke up to extend the match. However, Lafayette did not make it easy as senior 
Abby Devlin came off the bench and delivered back-to-back aces and put the Leopards on a 4-0 run to make it 21-19.
 
Loyola continued its hot streak into the fourth set, jumping out to a 3-1 lead, but the Maroon and White quickly took control going on a 6-0 run with Deegan at the service line to make it 10-6 before another 7-0 run made it 17-7 with Devlin at the service line.
 
Sophomore 
Gracie Gibson added eight kills and seven blocks while classmate 
Alyssa Vitale had three kills to go along with her 49 assists. Sophomore 
Katie Weston delivered a career-high 33 digs.
 
The Leopards will look to continue their streak against Army on Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. inside 
Kirby Sports Center.
