EASTON, Pa. – The Lafayette College volleyball team picked up its third consecutive Patriot League victory and completed the season sweep of Holy Cross in a four-set win (18-25, 25-13, 25-14, 25-18) Saturday afternoon in
Kirby Sports Center.

After a slow start, the Leopards exploded to hit .367 in the second set and used a 5-0 run to take control of the frame to make it 14-8. After some traded blows, sophomore
Alyssa Vitale stepped up to the service line to spark a 6-0 run that included back-to-back service aces to make it 21-10.

Vitale finished the afternoon with a double-double that included 53 assists and 10 digs to go along with two kills and two aces.

Lafayette opened the third set with a 5-0 run with sophomore
Katie Weston at the service line, that included back-to-back aces. The Crusaders finally got on the board, but the Leopards quickly answered with a 10-0 run with Vitale at the service line to make it 15-1.

Holy Cross showed signs of life with a 5-0 outburst to make it 20-10, but senior
Leanna Deegan had back-to-back kills to put an end to that. Classmate
Madi Wahrmund closed out the set with a kill, one of her season-high 10 kills. She hit .421 in the match.

Lafayette seemed to be in total control of the fourth set and finished it off with a 4-0 run and Weston service ace to close out the match.

Weston delivered 23 digs with four aces while Deegan put down 25 kills with eight digs. Freshman
Abby Nieporte had 12 kills and two digs while junior
Grace Steurer had 11 digs.

The Leopards make a quick turnaround and host Patriot League-leading Colgate Sunday at 4 p.m. in
