EASTON, Pa. – The Lafayette College volleyball team dropped a three-set contest (19-25, 20-25, 23-25) to conference-leading Colgate Sunday evening in
Kirby Sports Center.
Â
Senior

Â
It was a back-and-forth opening frame with the visitors leading 20-18 before they rattled off a 3-0 run to steal momentum and take the set. The Raiders used a 6-0 run in the second set to make it 15-6 before the Leopards were able to put together a quick 4-0 outburst with junior
Grace Steurer collecting back-to-back service aces.
Â
Lafayette got within three at 20-17 in the second before Colgate took a two-set advantage into the break.
Â
Momentum seemed to be with the Maroon and White in the third, scoring five out of seven points heading into the media timeout with a 15-13 advantage and again when Deegan and freshman
Abby Nieporte put together back-to-back kills to force a Colgate timeout at 18-15.
Â
Colgate had a pair of 3-0 runs in the match's last seven points to come back and take the third set.
Â
Senior
