BOSTON, Mass.- The Lafayette field hockey team traveled to Boston this Saturday, defeating the Terriers 3-1 on New Balance Field. The Leopards now have an overall record of 9-2 and 3-1 in Patriot League play.

Lineke Spaans struck at 4:04 in the first quarter to put Lafayette on the board with an unassisted reverse hit.
It was quiet during the second and third quarters, with both teams battling throughout the midfield for a few chances in the circle. Lafayette's defense was able to hold and maneuver around the offense to protect the 1-0 advantage.
The Terriers came out strong in the fourth quarter, with Thalia Steenssens getting a touch on a loose ball towards the cage at 47:23 to tie the game.

Audrey Sawers put the Leopards on top again at 49:39, scoring off a strong corner sweep. She was assisted by freshman
India Ralph and Spaans as the inserter and stick-stop, respectively.

Molly McAndrew sealed the deal with just over 30 seconds left after tipping in a long pass from Hannes against an open cage for a final score of 3-1.

Hailey Abbott made five saves in the victory and Boston's Caroline Kelly made four.
Lafayette stays on the road to face Ivy League opponent Brown tomorrow at 1 p.m. The Bears are currently 6-5 and 2-1 in conference play after facing Columbia this morning.
