EASTON, Pa. – Lafayette swimming and diving head coach Jim Dailey has announced the members of the Class of 2025 who have committed during the early decision period.
The class currently is composed of 13 women and six men from virtually region in the continental U.S.
"We are fortunate they are coming from a very diverse background based on swimming and diving experience, geographical location and demographics," Dailey said. "The class of 2025 has a variety of intended majors including, Policy Studies, International Relations, Civil Engineering, Biochemistry, Neuroscience and others."
The class of 2025 improves every aspect of the program, boasting and times and scores that would place them in All-Time Top 10. Several performances are close to school records and most are approaching Patriot League finals within their first year.
"As individuals, they are highly motivated, not scared of hard work and make an outstanding class with great leadership qualities," Dailey said. "Think of what they can accomplish as a team. I couldn't ask for more."
For the women's team, taking care of the sprints will be
Amber Crain (Cohoes, N.Y.),
Shaniya Newton (Minnetonka, Minn.),
Ashleigh Anzevino (Freehold, N.J.) and
Katie Blaisure (Norwich, N.Y.). Backstroke specialists
Maggie Ivie (Mechanicsville, Va.) and
Cate Hewson (Fair Haven, N.J.) will challenge our current swimmers to be better.
Middle distance and distance freestylers
Hope Boldizar (Lancaster, Pa.),
Paige Griggs (Hillsborough, N.J.) and
Megan Doucette (State College, Pa.) all have their goals set for scoring at championships. Flyers and IM'ers
Sophia Toomey (New Providence, N.J.) and
Grace Boghosian (Providence, R.I.) will be looking to get themselves in the All Time Top 10. The lone breaststroker
Madeline Seybold (Voorhees, N.J.) will add some much needed depth, and diver
Shaylee Daniels (Lancaster, Pa.) will make an immediate impact in dual meets and championships.
For the men's team, six men look to contribute immediately. Backstroker and IM swimmers
Peter Kawash (Mayfield, Pa.) and
Tommy Krystkiewicz (Warwick, Pa.) will look to compete with scoring at championships in mind. Sprint freestyler and backstroker
Kyle Mazziotti (Killingworth, Conn.) along with flyer/sprint freestyler
Avery Letourneau (Ada, Mich.) will add some top-end speed in their respective events. Sprint flyer and backstroke specialist
John Janeski (Delmar, N.Y.) and breaststroker
Sean Robinson (Bernardsville, N.J.) are expected to score often in dual meets while challenging the All Time Top 10 lists immediately.
"It's going to be a very exciting 2021-22 season. There are still regular-decision applicants that we are looking to get commitments from and we have a very short season progressing right now. Next season the team and I are looking forward to the best season we have had," Dailey explained. "The class of 2025 will greatly enhance the accomplishments for our team throughout the dual meet season and championships. Hopefully, the fall brings a return to 'normalcy'."
