Men's Soccer Set to Face Boston U. Saturday

Leopards are looking to win their fourth-straight

*Lafayette heads into Saturday's game with a 3-0 record, after beating Colgate 2-1 last Saturday to extend their win streak to three-straight. Junior Will Echeverria netted the first goal of the game for the Leopards only two minutes into the game, off an assist from junior Sebastian Varela. Senior Martin Ssessanga than netted the Leopard's second of the game, and his second of the season, in the 51st minute for the eventual game winner. 

*Echeverria was named the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week on March 23 for his goal in the Leopards win. The goal was the Longmeadow, Massachusetts native's first collegiate goal. This is the fourth weekly honor that the Leopards have received this spring season with Ssessanga being named Offensive Player of the Week on March 9 and junior Marcos Kitromilides being named Offensive Player of the Week and Varela being named Midfielder of the Week on March 16. 

*Ssessanga leads the way for the Leopards so far this season in points with four, goals with two and game winning goals with two. Senior Andrew Venezia leads the team in assists with two and sophomore Hale Lombard leads the team in shots with seven. Ssessanga, Varela, Venezia and Lombard all have a team-high three shots on goal so far this season. 

*As a team, Lafayette is 34th in the nation in team goals against average (0.667). Individually, Ssessanga is 19th in the nation in game-winning goals and 31st in goals per game (0.67) and Sutton is 46th in goals against average (0.667). 

*In the Patriot League as a team, Lafayette is tied for first in goal differential (3), first in total points (14), second in shot accuracy (0.457), shots on goal per game (5.33), team goals against average (0.667), total assists (4), total goals (5) and won-lost-tied percentage (1.000), and third in shots per game (11.67). Individually, Ssessanga is first in game-winning goals (2), tied for third in points (4) and tied for second in points (2). Lombard is tied for third in shots (7) and Sutton is first in shutouts (1) and shutouts per game (0.33). 

*The Maroon and White's defense has only allowed five shots on goal so far the season and Sutton recording three total saves and one shutout over 270 minutes of game action. 
 
*Boston U. comes into Saturday's game with a 1-0 record after beating Colgate, 3-0, on March 13. 

*Freshman Aiden Holmes, sophomore Ryan Lee, sophomore Ronaldo Marshall and freshman Andrew Rent all lead the Terriers in points so far this season with two each. Holmes, Lee and Marshall all lead the team in goals with three, Rent leads the team in assists with two, freshman Eitan Rosen leads the team in shots with four and Marshall leads the team in shots on goal (2) and game-winning goals (1). 

*The Terriers lead the all-time series 4-2-1. The last meeting between these two squads was on September 21, 2019 in Easton. Lafayette walked away with the 2-1 victory, when Adam Bramson put in the first goal for the Maroon and White in the 33rd minute and then Yiannis Panayides netted the game-winner in the 86th minute.
