David Mizrahi netted back-to-back goals for the Leopards to put them up 2-1 heading into the half. Boston U. tied the game up in the 59
th minute, but it was freshman
Carter Houlihan who found the back of the net in the 88
th minute to give the Leopards the 3-2 victory.
*Mizrahi and Houlihan were named the Patriot League Midfielder of the Week and Patriot League Rookie of the Week, respectively. Both netted their first collegiate goals in the win on Saturday. The Leopards now have received six player of the week honors this spring.
*For Lafayette, Houlihan and Ssessanga are tied in points with four each, Ssessanga leads the way in goals with two, Houlihan and Venezia lead the way in assists with two, Lombard leads the team in shots with 10, Lombard and Kitromilides leads the way in shots on goal with four each and Ssessnaga has a team-high two game-winning goals.
*Nationally as a team, the Leopards rank 34th in assists per game (1.75), 49th in corner kicks per game (5.75), 29th in points per game (5.75), 22nd in scoring offense (2.00), 50th in shots per game (12.50), 46th in shots on goal per game (5.75) and are tied for first in won-lost-tied percentage (1.000). *In the Patriot League as a team, the Leopards are leading the league in goal differential (4), total goals (8), total points (23) and are tied for first in scoring offense (2.00) and won-lost-tied percentage (1.00). They are second in the league in points per game (5.75), shot accuracy (0.460), shots on goal per game (5.75) and total assists (7), and are third in the league in assists per game (1.75), corner kicks per game (5.75) and shots per game (12.50). Individually, Ssessanga is tied for first in game-winning goals (2).
*So far this spring the Leopards defense has held opponents to 26 shots and 11 on goal. They are nearly doubling those numbers as they have taken 50 shots, 23 being on goal.
*Army comes into Saturday's game 0-2 overall and 0-2 in North Division action, falling to both Holy Cross and Colgate.
*Junior midfielder Oscar Pereira is leading the way for the Black Knights with six points, two goals, two assists, 16 shots and 16 shots on goal. He is tied with junior defender Chris DeBruyne in game-winning goals with one each. Jacob Suppiah has made the majority of the starts in net for Army this spring, starting in four games. He has allowed three goals over 337 minutes of game action and holds a 2-2 record.
*Army leads all-time series record, dating back to 1925, 19-16-13. Last meeting between these two schools was on October 2, 2019 in Easton. Lafayette earned the 5-0 victory with goals by Lombard,
Yiannis Panayides, Ssessanga,
Adam Bramson and
Benji Grossi. Four of the Leopards five goals in the game came in the second half. Goalkeeper
Alex Sutton let in zero goals and made one save in the shutout win.
