EASTON, Pa. – The Lafayette baseball team split the doubleheader with Army on Friday, winning game one 14-13 off a walk-off home run by senior
Ethan Stern, and dropping game two 1-16.

In game one, the Leopards were led by Stern who went 3-for-4 with a double and a home run. Junior
Dylan Minghini went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a double, and freshman
Blaze Fadio went 2-for-4 with a solo home run.

Starting pitcher sophomore
Jake Bloss went 5.0 innings, striking out six.

The Leopards were led in game two by sophomore
Seif Ingram who went 1-for-4 with an RBI.

Army (15-15, 9-6 PL) got off to a quick start, putting two runs on the board in the first two innings.

Lafayette (10-13, 9-11 PL) got on the board in the bottom of the second off, the Leopards first home run of the afternoon, a solo home run by Minghini to make it 2-1.

The Black Knights added one more in the top of the third inning, but Fadio hit the Leopards second home run of the day to pull the Leopards within one, 2-3. Â

After Army added two more runs in the top of the fourth, the Leopards exploded for seven runs in the bottom of the inning to take a 9-5 lead.

The two sides would trade the lead after Army tied-up the game in the top of the fifth, 9-9, and then a four-run sixth inning for the Leopards gave them a 13- 9 lead. Army added four of their own in the top of the seven to bring the score to 13-13.

With one out in the bottom of the seventh, Stern hit the Leopards third home run of the game and his first of the season, to give the Leopards the 14-13 walk-off game one victory.

Game two was all Black Knights from the start, as they started off the game with a six run first inning before adding two more in the second and three more in the fourth to make it 11-0.

The Leopards added a run in the bottom of the fourth after Stern started off the inning with a walk and then stealing second. He advanced to third after Minghini hit into a fielder's choice. Ingram then singled to bring Stern home and put a Leopard across home plate.

Army then added five more runs in the top of the ninth to bring the game two final to 16-1 in favor of the Black Knights.

Up next for the Leopards is game three and four of the four-game series in West Point on Saturday. First pitch of the first game of the doubleheader is slated for 2 p.m.
