BOSTON, Mass. – Boston softball claimed the final two games of the Leopards' Patriot League series on Sunday, winning 10-0 and 17-2.
Â
In the first game, Boston U. pitcher Ali DuBois (21-0) limited Lafayette to one hit in the five-inning contest. The base knock came off the bat of shortstop
Morgan Olynyk who led off the second inning with a single to right before being retired on a fielder's choice.
Â
Over the final three innings, DuBois sent down the Leopards in order to finish the day with four strikeouts. Meanwhile the Terrier offense broke out for nine runs over the first three innings. Emily Gant drove in four runs for the hosts who collected 11 hits while benefiting from four Lafayette errors.
Â
Kinzi van Wyk had a solid outing in relief. She did not allow an earned run in 1.2 innings while giving up two hits against the eight batters she faced. Â

Â
Things started well for Lafayette in the series finale.
Natasha Miner, who was coming off a four-hit day on Saturday, led off the game with a single, and singles by
Grace Harvey and
Paige Grover scored Miner. Olynyk plated
Julia Romano, who had reached on a fielder's choice, for the early 2-0 advantage.
Â
The margin was short-lived, as Boston scored eight runs on seven hits in the bottom half of the inning, sending 14 players to the plate.
Â
Terrier starter Allison Boaz emerged from the second, third and fourth innings unscathed.
Bailey Langford and
Jasmine Nguyen led off the fifth inning with singles, but Boaz got a groundout, strikeout and a pop out to end the game.
Â
The Leopards were scheduled to play Holy Cross on May 4-5, but that series has been canceled by Holy Cross. Lafayette will instead play a single game at Army on Wednesday at 5 p.m. and will then host a doubleheader vs. Army on Thursday beginning at 3 p.m.
