EASTON, Pa. - The Lafayette women's soccer team recorded its second win of the season, beating NJIT 1-0 on Sunday at Mike Bourger '44 Field at Oaks Stadium.
The Leopards scored the first and only goal of the match just 6 minutes into play. Lafayette senior
Katie Butler perfectly placed a terrific cross into the box which freshman
Gretchen Waechter then sent past the NJIT goalkeeper to score her first collegiate goal.
Both teams spent the majority of the match playing outside the penalty box. There were only three additional shots on goal for the remainder of the contest - two by Lafayette and one by NJIT.
Lafayette recorded seven shots and NJIT had three. The Leopards took three shots on goal and the Highlanders had one. For Lafayette,
Melissa Lamanna had a game high three shots. One shot was taken by Waechter, which resulted in a goal.

Haley Pursel recorded one shot each.

Natalie Neumann faced three shots and was credited with one save.
The Leopards will travel to Boston, Ma. on Saturday where they will meet Boston University at 4 p.m. at Nickerson Field.
