HAMILTON, N.Y. – The Lafayette College volleyball team was defeated in straight sets (27-29, 24-26, 19-25) Saturday afternoon in its first Patriot League contest of the season at Colgate.
The Leopards fought hard, forcing extra volleyball in each of the first two sets. Senior
Leanna Deegan was just shy of a double-double with 12 kills and 7 digs.
Lafayette featured an even attack with five players with at least three kills. Sophomore
Alyssa Vitale added 30 assists and classmate
Gracie Gibson went 9-0-16 to hit .562.
It will be a quick turnaround as the road trip continues to Holy Cross for a Sunday afternoon contest at 2 p.m.
