WORCESTER, Mass. – The Lafayette College volleyball team earned its third sweep in five matches, taking care of Holy Cross in straight sets (25-16, 25-18, 25-18) Sunday evening.

It marks the Leopards' first sweep of a Patriot League opponent since the 2015 season.

The Maroon and White got off to a scorching start, hitting .520 as a unit in the opening set. They closed the first of a 4-1 scoring run that included four kills by three different players.

The second set was back-and-forth in the early going until the Leopards went on a 7-0 run with sophomore
Katie Weston at the service line to make it 15-9 before a 3-0 run closed out the set.

Lafayette managed to score six of the third set's final eight points, including a pair of blocks, to close out the match.

Senior
Leanna Deegan led all attackers with 15 kills and recorded six digs while classmate
Madi Wahrmund matched her season high with eight kills, hitting .438.

Sophomore
Alyssa Vitale had 30 assists and a pair of aces while Weston had 12 digs.

The Leopards continue Patriot League play, travelling to Bucknell Friday for a 7 p.m. contest before a meeting at Lehigh Saturday at 4 p.m.
