EASTON, Pa. – After a scoreless 90 minutes, the Lafayette men's soccer team was able to apply pressure and pull out a 1-0 overtime victory over Boston U for its first Patriot League win of the season, Saturday afternoon at Oaks Stadium.
Just one minute into the overtime period, the Leopards set a ball into the box that was kicked around before junior
Yiannis Panayides got control and snuck it over the Terriers goalkeeper's head.
The matchup was about as even as it could get with both teams putting five shots on goal as senior goalkeeper
Alex Sutton was able to make all five saves.
Junior
Hale Lombard was effective on the offensive side of the field all afternoon, putting three shots on goal for the Leopards and classmate
Benji Grossi came off the bench to get a ball on goal as well.
The Leopards continue Patriot League play Wednesday night, traveling to Navy for a 7 p.m. kickoff before hosting Colgate Oct. 2 at 1 p.m.
