STORRS, Conn. - The Lafayette College volleyball team dropped a three-set match (14-25, 25-27, 16-25) to open the UConn Challenge and the 2021 season to the hosting Huskies Friday night. 
The Leopards went on a 3-0 run late in the second set to tie the match at 24 before the Huskies were able to take the frame and regain momentum. 
Senior 
Leanna Deegan led the way with nine kills to go along with six digs while junior 
Ellie Carrera-Justiz put down eight kills with 11 digs. Sophomore 
Alyssa Vitale had 27 assists to open the season with five digs. 
The UConn Challenge continues Saturday with two matches on tap for the Leopards, beginning with a matchup with Rutgers at 10 a.m. followed by a 3:30 p.m. match with Central Connecticut State.
