Neal Quinn and senior
Tyrone Perry each scored 17 points to lead the Lafayette College men's basketball team in a 69-55 loss Monday night to Navy inside
Kirby Sports Center.
Quinn tallied his fourth double-double of the season, grabbing 10 rebounds and dishing out three assists, while Perry added four dimes and four 3-pointers.
The visitors went on an 11-0 scoring run after the Leopards took an early 3-0 lead and never looked back, led by John Carter Jr.'s 19 points.
The Midshipmen led by 14 in the first half before senior
Jay Vaughan came off the bench to provide a spark that led to a sophomore
Eric Sondberg dunk and back-to-back Perry 3-pointers to cut the deficit to eight points with three minutes left in the half.
Quinn got going in the second half after Navy took a double-digit lead into the break and converted a lay-up at the 13-minute mark to make it a seven-point game.
Navy regained control over the next four minutes and extended its lead up to 15 points with 9:22 remaining. The Leopards got it to single-digits again with a 7-1 run, highlighted by a 3-pointer and a lay-up by Perry and a bucket by Quinn to make it 57-48 with under four minutes left.
Sophomore
Kyle Jenkins scored five points with two boards and junior
Leo O'Boyle added five with three boards and a pair of assists.
Lafayette hits the road and travels to Loyola on Thursday for a 7 p.m. tip-off on ESPN+ before returning to host Army on Sunday at 2 p.m. inside
Kirby Sports Center.
