LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Lafayette men's soccer team secured its second Patriot League victory, defeating Bucknell 1-0 on Saturday evening.
Senior forward
Marcos Kitromilides scored the lone goal of the contest off of a penalty kick in the 33
rd minute. The goal was Kitromilides' sixth of the season and fourth game-winner.
The match was a defensive battle for the Leopards, with Bucknell recording 14 of its18 total shots in the second half. The Bison could not find the back of the net against the Leopards' solid defense.
Offensively, the Leopards finished the evening with nine shots, four of which were on goal. Kitromilides recorded one goal off of one shot and junior forward
Hale Lombard took three shots with one being on goal.
Senior goalkeeper
Alex Sutton recorded a season-high eight saves in the contest. His Bucknell counterpart Freddie Lapworth made three saves while allowing one goal.
Lafayette will host The Rivlary against Lehigh on Saturday, at 7 p.m. at Mike Bourger '44 Field at Oaks Stadium.
