EASTON, Pa. - The Lafayette women's soccer team outlasted the Greyhounds of Loyola University on Senior Day to win 1-0 on Saturday at Mike Bourger '44 Field at Oaks Stadium. Before the match, the seven members of the Lafayette women's soccer class of 2023 were honored.
Lafayette scored the game's only tally in the 34th minute, when the Leopards were awarded a corner kick and junior
Emily Coe placed a perfect cross into the middle of the box, which was then headed into the upper right corner of the goal by
Katrina Santelli, giving Lafayette a 1-0 lead with 11 minutes remaining the first half. The goal was Santelli's second of the season.
In the second half, the Greyhounds had two opportunities to even the score, in the 84th and 86th minutes, but were thwarted in their attempts by two acrobatic saves by Lafayette junior goalkeeper
Lindsay Dewar.
The Leopards finished the afternoon with a total of four shots, two of which were on goal. Loyola had 11 shots, with six of those on goal. Lafayette was led in shots by senior
Sara Oswald with two, and one of those was on goal. Santelli and sophomore
Gretchen Waechter took one shot each, with Santelli's shot resulting in a goal.

Natalie Neumann started the match in goal and was replaced after the first 45 minutes by Dewar. Neumann recorded two saves, and Dewar was credited with three saves. Their Loyola counterpart, Paige Sim, played the full 90 minutes and recorded one save.
The Leopards are next in action when they host Bucknell on Friday, at 7 p.m. at Mike Bourger '44 Field at Oaks Stadium.
