HAMILTON, N.Y. - The Lafayette women's soccer team battled Colgate to a 1-1 draw Saturday afternoon at Beyer-Small Field.
In just the third minute, Lafayette's freshmanÂ
April McDonald broke away from the Colgate defense and sent a shot into the net past Raiders goalie Grace Poncsak, giving the Leopards a 1-0 lead. The goal was McDonald's third of the season.
Colgate struck back to even the match in the 76th minute. Ally Giovino received a pass from Ari Bezanson, juked around her defender and sent a shot past the outstretched arms of Lafayette junior goalkeeper

Lafayette finished the contest with five shots, two of which were on goal. Colgate had 18 shots with eight on goal. Senior
Sara Oswald led the Leopards with two shots, one of which was on goal. Freshman

Haley Pursel and McDonald had one apiece.

Natalie Neumann and Dewar again split time evenly in goal for the Leopards. Dewar recorded six saves and Neumann recorded one. Poncsak played the full 90 minutes for Colgate, recording one save.
The Leopards return home to Mike Bourger '44 Field at Oaks Stadium for their final match of the 2022 campaign on Wednesday to face Navy at 6 p.m.
