EASTON, Pa. - The Lafayette men's soccer team was defeated by non-conference foe Hofstra, 4-0, on Tuesday evening.

Prior to the game, the Lafayette men's soccer program recognized teammate Andrew Hummel and his fight against pediatric cancer.

The Leopards were led by junior midfielder
Benji Grossi who had two shots. Grossi nearly put the Leopards on the board in the 76th minute, but the long-range shot hooked just wide of the net.

Hofstra found the back of the net three times in the first half, in the 20th, 24th and 34th minute.Â

The Pride scored their fourth and final goal in the 65th minute. Forward Oliver Svalander netted a hat-trick in the contest.

Sophomore goalkeeper
Griffin Huff made five saves and allowed four goals. Hofstra goalkeeper Wessel Speel played 81 minutes in net but did not record a save. Alex Dudley played the remaining nine minutes.

The Leopards travel to American on Saturday for a Patriot League match-up at noon.
