WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Lafayette men's soccer team closed the regular season with a 0-0 draw against Army on Wednesday night.

The Leopards controlled momentum throughout the beginning of the first half. In the 27th minute, junior midfielder
Benji Grossi quickly took a free kick just outside of the 18 while Army was on its heels. Grossi set up senior forward
Marcos Kitromilides for a quick shot, but Army goalkeeper Tomas Hut came up with a big save for the Black Knights.

In the 32nd minute, senior goalkeeper
Alex Sutton made a phenomenal save on a shot from point-blank range by Gage Guerrea.

Lafayette opened up the second half with offensive momentum. In the 51st minute, sophomore forward
Lawrence Aydlett fired a shot just off target from within the box.

In the final minute of the contest, senior midfielder
Yiannis Panayides booted a shot off net from a cross from Aydlett.

Grossi and Aydlett led the Lafayette offense with two shots apiece.Â

Sutton finished the night with two saves and his sixth clean sheet of the season. Hut recorded three saves for the Black Knights.

The Leopards qualified for the Patriot League Tournament following their 2-1 win over American. The first round will be held on Saturday against Navy in Annapolis, Md. at 7 p.m.
