EASTON, Pa. - Five players scored in double figures to lift the Leopards over UMBC 72-38 on Wednesday night at Kirby Sports Center.

Kayla Drummond found her way back into the starting lineup after missing four games due to injury. The Ontario, Canada native made an immediate impact, grabbing seven boards and putting up 10 points. Drummond and the Leopards outrebounded UMBC 41-24, which led to 28 points in the paint.

Lafayette shot a season-high 51.7 percent from the floor, with every player that checked into the game recording a basket.Â

UMBC was led by K.K. White who had 11 points. The Retriever's leading scorer Kiara Bell had a cold shooting night (1-10), but grabbed 10 out of the Retrievers' 24 rebounds.

The Leopards held a steady lead throughout the first half, outrebounding the Retrievers 20-13. This led to 10 points in the paint for Lafayette compared to UMBC's two.

Lafayette led 26-16 at halftime, with Andrews leading the charge with seven points.

The Leopards ran on a 18-6 run in the final six minutes of the third quarter, outscoring UMBC 22-10 in the third. Three players entered into double figures by the end of the third quarter in Booth, Favours and Drummond, giving the Leopards the 48-26 lead heading into the fourth.

The Retrievers could not find their way back into the game with the Leopards putting up 24 points in the fourth quarter, as Lafayette secured its first home win of the 2022-23 season 72-38.

Lafayette will travel to New York City on Saturday, taking on Columbia at 1 p.m.
