EASTON, Pa. – The Lafayette volleyball team was defeated in straight sets (23-25, 19-25, 24-26) by Navy Saturday afternoon on Senior Day at Kirby Sports Center. Before the match, the Leopards honored seniors

Mataya Megson.

Carol Ulichney was the leader in kills for the Leopards with 12. Sophomore
Abby Nieporte had seven service aces and junior
Alyssa Vitale recorded 34 assists.

Lafayette started quickly in the first set, jumping out to a 16-11 lead, but Navy responded and took the first set 25-23. The Leopards scored first again in the second set, but the Mids controlled the pace of play throughout the set and scored five of the final six points, to win the second 25-19. In the third set, the Mids defeated the Leopards in a tight frame 26-24.

Nieporte had nine kills for Lafayette and junior
Gracie Gibson recorded seven kills. Megson collected five kills and Steurer was credited with three kills. Both junior
Katie Weston and sophomore
Elizabeth Flynn had seven digs each.Â
The Maroon and White next travel to Washington, D.C. to take on the Eagles of American University, on Friday Nov. 11 at 6Â p.m. at Bender Arena.Â
