HAMDEN, Conn. - Lafayette continued its five-game road trip on Saturday afternoon, falling to Quinnipiac 76-63 at the People's United Center.
Sophomore TJ Berger led the Leopards with 19 points off the bench. Berger knocked down five three-pointers in the contest. Senior Leo O'Boyle finished the afternoon with 16 points and six rebounds, extending his double-digit scoring streak to seven games this season.
The Leopards went into halftime facing an 11-point deficit after a solid offensive performance from the Bobcats, who shot 61.5 percent from the field and 55.6 percent from beyond the arc in the first half.
Lafayette clawed back in the second half with an 8-2 run sparked by a three-pointer from O'Boyle, an Isaiah Thompson layup and another three from Berger. That run cut the Quinnipiac lead to seven, 56-49 at 11:47.
That was the closest the Leopards would get, being outscored by the Bobcats 20-14 the rest of the way. Quinnipiac was assertive on offense all evening, ending with 34 points in the paint. Leading the way for the Bobcats was Luis Kortright, who registered a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Lafayette returns home to the Kirby Sports Center on Monday to host Columbia after five games on the road.
