EASTON, Pa. – The Lafayette softball program has released its 2023 schedule, which features 36 games and includes four tournaments at Louisiana, UMBC, Madeira Beach and Mount St. Mary's.

The Leopards are under first-year head coach Karavin Dew and are scheduled to open the season in early February, traveling to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette for the 37th Annual Louisiana Classics on Feb. 10-12. They are slated to take on the Ragin' Cajuns and Stephen F. Austin.

Lafayette then travels to Baltimore Feb. 25-26 to take part in the UMBC Retriever Round Robin for the second straight season. Youngstown State joins Lafayette and UMBC in the tournament field. 

The Maroon and White begin the month of March with a trip to Madeira Beach in Florida, to take part in the Spring Games March 10-14, tentatively slated to face Iona, LIU, Princeton, Tennessee-Chattanooga and Hartford. 

On March 18-19 the Leopards will play in their final tournament of the spring, traveling to Mount St. Mary's to take on the host Mountaineers and Albany, followed by a mid-week doubleheader on March 21 at Wagner.

The Maroon and White open their Patriot League schedule March 25-26, hosting rival Lehigh for a three-game series. The Leopards continue in the eight-game homestand with three games against Army on April 1-2, before closing out their home swing with a mid-week doubleheader against Drexel on April 4. The Leopards then travel to defending Patriot League champion Boston University for a three-game set on April 8-9 .

Lafayette returns to Easton on April 12 for five straight home games, starting with a mid-week doubleheader against Fairleigh Dickinson on April 12 and finishing with a three-game series against Holy Cross on April 15-16. The Leopards venture to Colgate on April 29 for a doubleheader, followed by a single game on April 30.

The Maroon and White close out their home slate and open the month of May with a mid-week doubleheader vs. Marist on May 3. The regular season concludes with a three-game series at Bucknell, before the Patriot League Tournament on May 11-13.
