Swimming Announces Class of 2026

Easton, Pa. - The Lafayette College Swimming and Diving programs are proud to announce the early decision Class of 2026 signees. The program signed eight women and two men during the early decision period.

"We have an outstanding incoming first year class coming to campus in the fall," said head coach James Dailey.  "We are very excited about the numbers, performances and personalities of the group. We were able to take care of both the top end and depth in the events we were looking to improve. If you add the diversity of geography, anticipated academic major and experience level, you have the making of an exciting and dynamic team."

For the women, first year Isabella Van Ess (Ashburn, VA) and Ella Desalvo (Tenafly, NJ) will handle most of the breaststroke responsibilities and some IM. Taking care of the butterfly events will be the trio of Lorelei Folger (N. Chelmsford, MA), Emma Luttrell (Manlius, NY) and Megan Lovasz (Wall Township, NJ). Folger, Lovasz and Kelsey Donatelli (Schwenksville, PA) will be seeing time in the freestyle events ranging from the 50 free up to the 1650 free. Competing in the 1m and 3m diving events will be Katie Hensell (South Bend, IN) and Safaya
Elkhyati (Sinking Springs, PA).

"Both of our Lady Leopard divers will contribute to our renewed tradition of excellence in our diving program, said Diving Coach Hubert Etchison. "Strong students and talented divers, they will both make an impact on our team as well as our school record boards." For the men, the middle distance and distance freestyle events will be handled by Tommy Weber (Arlington, VA). Aidan Boudreaux (Westborough, MA) will be a major contributor in the 1m and 3m diving events.

Boudreaux was an early decision commitment, with several family members being Lafayette Alumni. "Aidan committed verbally in the fall, with an enthusiasm that will serve him well as a member of the Diving team, said Coach Etchison. "Male divers are hard to come by, nationwide, so we were pleased at his commitment." In terms of overall early decision signees, Boudreaux was a standout, according to Coach Dailey. "While we didn't sign a large number of Early Decision Men to the team, we didn't have a large number of slots to fill due to graduation this year."

"Every single one of our signees is either in our All Time Top 10 or missing it by a place or two. They will all be outstanding athletic and teammate contributors to our team right away. I'm very excited to have them arrive in August of 2022."
