EASTON, Pa. – Lafayette's first weekend of Patriot League play came to an end on Sunday as reigning champion Boston U. handed the Leopards a 10-0 final on Sunday at wintry Metzgar Fields.

The visitors scored a pair of runs off Lafayette starter
Morrigan Gardiner in the first inning and led throughout.

Grace Harvey, who homered in game one of the series, added another extra-base hit in the top of the first with two outs. BU pitcher Lizzy Avery recorded one of her six strikeouts to end the rally.

In the third inning, Emily Gant connected for a two-run home run to push across three runs for the Terriers who led 5-0. Gardiner (4 R, 3H, 3BB, 1K) left the game following Gant's hit in favor of
Kailee Sawai. Â

Sawai threw 2.1 innings, giving up three runs on seven hits.
Jacqueline Cal finished off the game in the circle for the Leopards, tossing the final 1.2 innings while giving up three runs on four hits.

Boston U put the game out of reach in the top of the sixth. The first batter, Kayla Roncin, hit a ball deep to left center that hit off the top of the fence and carried over for a home run. It was part of a three-run frame that also included two runs scoring on a sac fly at the warning track.

Lafayette is back on the field on Wednesday, traveling to Rider for a doubleheader.
