245 Student-Athletes Named to PL Academic Honor Roll

Leopards were recognized for achieving a 3.2 GPA during the spring semester

EASTON, Pa. – Two hundred and forty-five Lafayette student-athletes have earned 2021-22 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selections as announced by the league office on Monday.

To be eligible for the Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20-grade point average (GPA) in the spring semester and participate in one of the Patriot League's 15 sports that conduct their championship during the spring semester. This includes baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's golf, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's swimming and diving, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's track & field, women's rowing and softball.

Women's swimming & diving led the way among the Leopards' winter and spring sports teams with 44 selections. Men's lacrosse followed with 41, followed by women's track & field (37), baseball and women's lacrosse (23), men's track & field (16), men's swimming & diving (14) and softball (11).

Women's basketball, men's golf and women's tennis all placed eight student-athletes on the list with men's basketball and men's tennis concluding the group (6).

The Lafayette women's swimming & diving, baseball and men's lacrosse teams paced every conference rival for the number of Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selections in the respective sport, while men's golf and women's track & field both placed third.

Across the Patriot League, 2,303 student-athletes achieved the distinction. Bucknell recorded a League-high 311 student-athletes on the spring academic honor roll with Boston University (265) and Holy Cross (264) placing second and third, respectively.

Lehigh had 261 student-athletes earn the spring laurels, with Lafayette (245), Loyola Maryland (240), Navy (237), Colgate (215), Army West Point (149) and American (121) rounding out the totals from the Patriot League's full-member institutions.

Associate members Georgetown (55), MIT (36) and Richmond (4) also contributed to the League's final tally of 2,402.
