Lafayette Appoints LeBuhn ’88 as Head Tennis Coach

Former Leopard brings two decades of experience back to College Hill

EASTON, Pa. - Robert LeBuhn '88 has been named the new head coach of the Lafayette men's and women's tennis programs on Thursday afternoon.

As a seasoned coach, educator and program builder, LeBuhn brings a diverse background spanning collegiate athletics, high school coaching and high-performance tennis development across the country.

Most recently, LeBuhn was named the boys varsity tennis coach and girls assistant coach at Laguna Beach High School in California. Prior to that, he served as boys varsity tennis coach at DePere High School in Wisconsin from 2023-24.

At the collegiate level, LeBuhn served as interim head women's tennis coach at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, where he led recruiting efforts and laid the groundwork for sustained program growth. His leadership emphasized Division III values and a cohesive student-athlete experience, helping to build a strong foundation for future success.

"We are thrilled to welcome Robert back to Lafayette College to lead our tennis program," said Senior Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Success Carly Riepenhoff. "His extensive coaching experience, commitment to student-athlete development and ability to build meaningful relationships will have an immediate and lasting impact on our team and our department."

"As a graduate of Lafayette College, it is an honor and privilege to have been selected as the next men's and women's tennis coach here at Lafayette," LeBuhn said. "I am looking forward to the challenge of returning the teams to perennial contenders in the Patriot League."

In addition to his work in education and school-based athletics, LeBuhn has an extensive background in tennis management. He spent 2016-24 as the director of racquets at Green Bay Country Club, where he oversaw staff, programming and long-term strategic growth for the club's 345 families. Under his direction, participation in racquet sports more than doubled and was instrumental in the addition of pickleball courts in 2022.

LeBuhn's career also includes leadership roles at premier tennis facilities and resorts across the country, including the Four Seasons Resort Lana'I (2010-14), the Kroc Tennis Center (2016-20), Baseline Tennis (2014-16) and the Marriott Marina in downtown San Diego (2006-10).

He carries a number of certifications as a USTPR professional and an American Platform Tennis Association member. As a Lafayette alumni, he holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government & Law with a minor in English.

A native of New Vernon, N.J., he resides in Easton, Pa. with his husky shepherd mix, Ohana, and his Lana'i cat, Vilula.
