EASTON, Pa. — Dan Cason has been promoted to Associate Athletic Director for Advancement at Lafayette College, the athletic department announced Tuesday.
Cason, who previously served as Assistant Athletic Director for Advancement, will report directly to Brian Winiarski '86, who was elevated to Senior Associate Athletic Director for Advancement earlier this academic year.
"Since joining us in 2024, Dan has made an immediate and lasting impact on Lafayette Athletics through his exceptional work building relationships across our community," Winiarski said. "Over the past two years, his leadership has helped drive a 27% growth in Maroon Club annual fundraising, expanded our Friends of Committees across all sports programs, streamlined communications and chaired a record-breaking 2026 Maroon Club Golf Outing that raised over $134,000. Dan is an outstanding campus partner, and I couldn't be happier to have him help lead our Athletics Advancement team as we aim for even greater heights this fiscal year."
In his new role, Cason will continue to oversee annual giving initiatives for the Maroon Club, drive major gift fundraising efforts and strengthen engagement across Lafayette's 23 varsity sports programs.
"I would like to thank Sean Scanlon, Valerie Downing, Joe Samaritano and Brian Winiarski for their guidance during my two years on College Hill and for this incredible opportunity," Cason shared. "I'm thrilled to continue building relationships with our passionate alumni, family and friends to elevate Lafayette Athletics to new heights. Our student-athletes are at the heart of everything we do, and I'm proud to be part of a community that truly values a holistic approach to their success."
During his two-year tenure as Assistant Athletic Director, Cason played a critical role in expanding donor participation, modernizing alumni outreach and spearheading committee structures to bolster support across the department.
Prior to arriving on College Hill in 2024, Cason gained administrative experience within the Ivy League. He served as the Assistant Athletics Director for External Relations and as a Marketing Coordinator at Dartmouth College, after serving as the Fan Engagement Assistant at Yale University.
