EASTON, Pa. – The Lafayette women's soccer team traveled to the University of Hartford on Sunday where the Hawks defeated the Leopards by a score of 1-0 at Al-Marzook Field at Alumni Stadium.
For the second game in a row, neither the Leopards nor their opponent were able to muster a goal in the first 45 minutes. Both the Leopards and the Hawks recorded five shots in the first half, with three of Lafayette's shots on goal and two on target by Hartford.
In the second half, Lafayette recorded seven shots, of which one was on goal, while Hartford took nine shots, of which six were on target. The match remained scoreless until the 81st minute when Hartford junior Imani Jenkins received a pass from senior Makaela Montgomery-Williams and placed a shot in the lower right corner of the goal out of the reach of Lafayette senior goalkeeper
Natalie Neumann and gave the Hawks a 1-0 lead.
The Leopards finished the match with a total of 12 shots and Hartford recorded 14. Lafayette had four shots on goal, while the Hawks had eight. A trio of Lafayette sophomores,
Ani Khachadourian,
Alexa Jindal and
Gretchen Waechter, recorded two shots each. Khachadourian and Jindal both had one shot on goal. Six Leopards took one shot each:
