Leopards Battle Boston U. to a 0-0 Draw

The Leopards return home on Wednesday at 7 p.m. against Navy

BOSTON, Mass. – The Lafayette men's soccer team battled Boston University to a 0-0 tie in its second conference match of the season.

Lafayette and Boston went into the second half with three shots apiece. The final 45 proved to be a defensive battle for the Leopards, with the Terriers recording nine shots while the Leopards had four.

Boston University fired a shot off the crossbar with eight minutes remaining. A Terrier forward collected the ball and fired the rebound off the outside of the net. The Leopards answered by earning a free-kick right outside the box with about six minutes remaining. The initial shot was blocked by the Boston defense, and sophomore Lawrence Aydlett fired a second shot off target.

Lafayette did not earn a corner during the match, while Boston earned 11. Senior goalkeeper Alex Sutton led his defense by coming out of the net and not allowing the Terriers to score on their corner opportunities.

Sutton played all 90 minutes in net, recording two saves. His Boston University counterpart Francesco Montali also played all 90 and recorded one save.
The Leopards will return home for another Patriot League match-up against Navy on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
