LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell beat Lafayette volleyball in three sets on Saturday evening, winning 25-22, 25-17, 25-16 in conference action at Davis Gymnasium.

The first set featured five ties but no lead changes as Bucknell took the early advantage. Lafayette trailed 16-9 before the Leopards went on a 10-3 scoring run fueled by kills from freshman
Ally Feczko and seniors
Abby Nieporte and
Gracie Gibson. Gibson's finish knotted the set for a final time at 19-19 before Bucknell pulled away for the 25-22 first set.

In the second set, Bucknell led 12-9, but took control via a 8-3 scoring run. Cameron Lloyd, who finished the match with seven Bison kills, rattled off three in the span to allow the hosts to pull away for a 25-17 set win.

The third set was back and forth early. Leopard freshman
Emma Patmon delivered three kills and Nieporte added another to tie the game at 4-4. It remained close with Feczko and Gibson both finishing points and senior
Alyssa Vitale adding a service ace to pull the Maroon and White within 11-9. Bucknell then ran off four straight points and outscored Lafayette 14-5 to close out the match.

For the match, Gibson contributed a team-high nine kills while Nieporte added eight and rookie Irelyn Lorenzen chipped in with seven. Vitale assisted on 28 of the team's 32 kills. Catherine Jamison led Bucknell with 12 kills for the Bison who hit .265 on the night compared to Lafayette's .167. Senior
Katie Weston picked up 16 digs to lead the Leopards.

Lafayette will close out the regular season on Nov. 11 at Colgate.
