ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Lafayette women's basketball team wrapped up the regular-season with a 74-64 win over Navy at Alumni Hall.

Makayla Andrews put on a show in Annapolis, reaching career highs in points (27) and rebounds (17). Three other Leopards scored in double figures as sophomore guard

Sauda Ntaconayigize netted a career-high 15 and fellow rookie
Kay Donahue tied her career-high with 11. The Leopards played with just six players on Wednesday.

Navy also had four in double figures, led by freshman forward Kate Samson with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Sam Schofield chipped in 14, as Lindsay Llewellyn and Maren Louridas scored 11 apiece.

The first quarter was an even shooting match between the two teams, as Navy led 19-17 heading into the second quarter.

Antognoli led the Leopards with nine points and Donahue chipped in eight, as Lafayette led 31-30 at intermission.

The shooting momentum from the first half did not carry over to the third quarter. Lafayette shot 20 percent (3-for-15) from the floor. Andrews led the Leopards with eight as Navy's Samson put up 10 in the quarter, giving Navy a 48-44 lead heading into the fourth.

Leading up to 7:17 remaining in the fourth, Favours netted a jumper, Andrews scored a layup and Antognoli went 2-for-2 from the line as the Leopards took a 50-48 lead. On the next possession, Llewellyn responded with a layup to tie it at 50-50.

Ntaconayigize spurred a 10-0 run as the rookie drained two threes, Antognoli added a jumper and Andrews scored a layup, giving the Leopards a 60-50 lead with 3:36 on the clock.Â

Andrews netted nine points in the final three minutes to help Lafayette close out the regular season with a 74-64 victory.Â

The Leopards host Loyola in the Patriot League Tournament first round at 4 p.m. on Saturday at Kirby Sports Center. Lafayette is offering free tickets and pizza to students (while supplies last).
