EASTON, Pa.- The Lafayette women's lacrosse team was defeated by the Binghamton Bearcats, 19-10, on Wednesday evening in Fisher Stadium.
Katie Chiasson paced the Leopards with three goals and one ground ball.
Clare Culligan and
Sophia Spallone both had two goals, followed by
Sarah Bennett,
Abby Romano and
Meghan McLachlan with one apiece.
Binghamton's Abigail Carroll scored four goals this evening. Her teammates Olivia Muscolino, Kenna Newman and Marisa Tancredi all recorded hat tricks. The Bearcats had two more student-athletes tally points while in Easton.
The Bearcats held the advantage in ground balls (19-14), shots (38-27) and clears (22-24 to 15-17). Lafayette netted 10 free position shots to Binghamton's nine. The Leopards led in draw controls 19-14.
Lafayette's junior goalkeeper
Lexie Coldiron made 11 saves, while her Binghamton counterpart, Emily Manning, made 12.
The Leopards will host Canisius on Saturday at 11 a.m. for the Athlete Ally game.
