EASTON, Pa.- The Lafayette women's lacrosse team was defeated by Lehigh, 15-3, in the 2023 iteration of the Rivalry matchup.
Sara Rogers paced the Leopards with one goal, one assist, one draw control and one caused turnover.
The Mountain Hawks scored the first two goals of the contest, prior to Lafayette's
Abby Romano finding the net at 14:37 in the second period.
Both teams traded singular goals, with
Genevieve Strobel getting on the board at 9:58, before Lehigh began a 9-0 run that would eventually be enough to put the Leopards away.
The Maroon and White had one more goal by Rogers, assisted by
Sarah Bennett, at 14:32 in the final quarter. The Mountain Hawks pressed the gas and finished with a final score of 15-3 at Fisher Stadium.
Lehigh held the advantage in draw controls (14-6), ground balls (24-18), shots (40-15) and clears (14-15 to 11-19). The Mountain Hawks netted seven free-position shots, while the Leopards tallied three.
Lafayette's junior goalkeeper
Lexie Coldiron made 16 saves. Her Lehigh counterparts, Hayley Hunt and Julia DeLitta, made six and one, respectively.
The Leopards travel to Villanova on Wednesday for a 1 p.m. contest.
