Robinson enters his sixth season on College Hill with new title

EASTON, Pa. - The Lafayette men's soccer program and head coach Dennis Bohn announce the promotion of Gabriel Robinson to Associate Head Coach.

"Gabe has quickly become one of the top assistant coaches in the country and we wanted to recognize the impact he has made over the last five years. He's earned this well-deserved promotion to associate head coach," Bohn said. "I'm thrilled he will continue to grow his career here at Lafayette. Our program is fortunate to be able to have such a quality coach like Gabe. He has symbolized the uniqueness of Lafayette Soccer and I am grateful to have him on our staff."

"I am very grateful for this opportunity and want to say a special thank you to head coach Dennis Bohn, as well as the administration, Director of Athletics Sherryta Freeman and Senior Associate Athletic Director for Facilities and Operations Andrew Foster," Robinson said. "I appreciate the opportunity to continue to coach at Lafayette College. Coach Bohn has built a successful program. I'm privileged to work with our incredible student-athletes."

In the 2022 season, Robinson helped guide Lafayette to an overall record of 9-6-4. The Leopards finished the season ranked 25th in the country for team goals-against average (0.895). The Leopards also had five student-athletes who were named all-conference selections, along with Sebastian Varela being named to the Patriot League All-Academic Team.

In the spring 2021 season he helped coach six all-conference selections including the Co-Defensive Player of the Year, five All-Region, an All-American and a Scholar All-American. During the 2019 season, Robinson helped lead the Leopards to a record of 9-7-5 with an appearance in the Patriot League championship game. In its run to the conference final, Lafayette compiled 10 shutouts on the season, finishing ranked 17th nationally in shutout percentage (0.476) and 31st nationally in team goals against average (0.941).

In 2018, the Leopards were ranked in the top 50 in the nation in goals against average, along with goalkeeper Alex Sutton being ranked 27th nationally in save percentage and defender Christian Williams being named to the All-Patriot League Third Team.

During his collegiate career at Cincinnati, Robinson was a two-time academic all-conference selection earning honors by both the Big East and American Athletic Conferences and was one of two Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) representatives for the NCAA, working with Division I student-athletes support services. He was a contributing factor in the team's school-record six consecutive shutouts in 2012, along with being named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Top 100 Freshmen list.

In his time at Duquesne, the Dukes recorded an all-time program record of seven consecutive shutouts, finishing the season with nine total. Robinson also has playing experience in the Philadelphia Union and New York Red Bulls Youth Academies.
