Kraham Nets Career High Five Goals in Victory

Junior had a 12-point outing in Patriot League win over Holy Cross

EASTON, Pa. - Junior attack Kalman Kraham erupted with a career-high five goals as the Leopards rolled past Holy Cross 17-11 on a sunny Saturday at Fisher Stadium.
 
Lafayette men's lacrosse welcomed back its alumni to College Hill for the Patriot League contest.  
 
Kraham had 12 points on the afternoon, tacking on two assists. Classmate Charlie Cunniffe netted two goals and contributed four assists.
 
The Crusaders were led by Thomas McIntire with five goals and Matt Major who chipped in a hat trick.
 
Junior Peter Lehman started off the afternoon's scoring, netting the first goal of the contest with 11:44 remaining in the first. The Leopards took a 5-3 lead going into the second quarter, as Kraham scored his first two goals of the game.
 
McIntire put in three goals in a row in the beginning of the second, giving the Crusaders a 6-5 lead. Senior midfielder Brian Collins responded for the Leopards and sophomore Riley Sullivan followed with two in a row as Lafayette took an 8-6 lead with just over five minutes remaining in the first half. 
 
McIntire pulled Holy Cross within one before Kraham capitalized on a man-up opportunity, giving the Maroon and White a 9-7 lead. The Crusaders' Julian Jenkins scored with 25 seconds remaining in the half as Lafayette headed into intermission up 9-8.
 
The Leopards went on a 5-0 run in the third quarter. Kraham led the charge with two goals. Holy Cross ended the run with two goals to close out the quarter. The Leopards led 14-10.
 
Major scored to open up the fourth, but Lafayette responded with three in a row to close out the 17-11 victory.
 
Freshman Joe Doherty made five saves while Holy Cross goalie Dawson Friers made six.
 
The win marks Lafayette's first season registering five wins since the 2010 season when the Leopards went 8-6.
 
The Leopards head to Navy on Saturday for a 3:30 p.m. matchup.
