EASTON, Pa. – All 20 of Lafayette College's athletic programs measured in the NCAA's latest multi-year Academic Progress Rates (APR) matched or beat the national average (984). Twelve Leopard programs registered perfect scores of 1000, placing Lafayette first overall in the Patriot League. Holy Cross finished second with 11 while Colgate (9), Lehigh (8) and Bucknell (6) made up the top five.
For the Lafayette men's teams, baseball (1000), basketball (984), cross country (1000), football (984), golf (1000), lacrosse (995), soccer (1000), swimming and diving (996), tennis (1000) and track and field (1000) all recorded multi-year APR scores well ahead of the NCAA's benchmark (930). Those most recent multi-year APR scores are based on the scores from 2018-19 through 2021-22 and were released on May 2.
For Lafayette's women's sports offerings, basketball (995), cross country (1000), field hockey (993), lacrosse (994), soccer (1000), softball (994), swimming and diving (1000), tennis (1000), track and field (1000) volleyball (1000) achieved on an equally high level. Seven women's teams and five men's teams posted perfect scores.
Each Division I team calculates its APR each academic year. Scholarship student-athletes receive one point each semester for remaining eligible and one point for staying in school or graduating. For non-scholarship teams, recruited student-athletes are tracked. Rates are an average of the past four years' performance and the most recent APR scores are multi-year rates based on the scores from the 2018-19, 2019-20, 2020-21 and 2021-22 academic years. National aggregates are based on all teams with usable data at the time of analysis. Click through for the
